SoCo Collect, Hastings Museum & Art Gallery

SoCo Collect is a selected and curated exhibition by SoCo Artists, showing works made in response to items in the Hastings Museum & Art Gallery collections or other ‘collections’.
Echoing the diversity found in collections in the Museum and elsewhere, amongst other items, artists have worked from Samurai armour, the Slender Billed Curlew, 19C souvenirs, Mods and Rockers, overlooked objects and personal archives. With a long lead up the exhibition, artists have had time to develop their practices through critical thinking and practice led research. Processes include, sculpture, painting, film, textiles and photography. Shown throughout the museum, work can be found in the main gallery, upper galleries and within the collections themselves.

The artists are: Oona Ball, Sinéid Codd, Roz Cran, Jean Davey Winter, Maggie Henton, Adrienne Hunter, Sue Johnson, Alex Leadbeater, Mary Morris, Kath Mullaniff, Jim Northover, Carly Ralph, Helen Scalway and Charlotte Snook.
