Sea Crossing, October 2016

Our Sea Crossing installation at Electro Studios Project Space on 1 and 2 October, attracted over 160 visitors over one opening event and two days. As part of the ROOT 1066 International Festival of Contemporary Art and Coastal Currents 2016 it was well advertised. Word also spread through facebook and the event proved to be very successful, not only in terms of visitor numbers, but in the peoples' reaction to the work - see below.

Sea Crossing referenced the installation For Those in Peril on the Sea (2011) by international artist, Hew Locke and we hosted an artist talk by Hew at Hastings Museum & Art Gallery on 17 September, prior to our installation.

Wonderful. Inspiring. Fantastic.      Patrick Nzeli

Amazing variety, funny and touching    Rachel Lever

Feel a bit seasick. Fantastic work.   Adrian Parker

Really sweet exhibition - every boat unique and using imaginative materials.   Carolyn Eaves

Wonderful celebration of the imagination - the more you look the more you see.    Jill Rock

Really lovely boats with lots of character     Ian and Ida Barker

We sent Hew some images of Sea Crossing and his reaction was, "I love the variety of style and approach, and they look great"
