With clear step by step instructions and demonstration everyone will learn the basic techniques of constructing a Japanese stab-stitch bound book before exploring the variations that are achievable and creating your own unique book. The workshop is illustrated with examples to demonstrate a range of possibilities that are achievable through this method. Guidance and encouragement are given throughout.

Workshop Two: 'No-stitch booklet construction’

Sunday 18 November, 10am – 1pm

£15  SoCo members and £18 for non-members                                                                             Includes tea and coffee

It is possible to create very effective but simply constructed books and booklets which require no stitching. In this workshop you will make a number of proto-types to explore the various constructions that can be achieved through careful folding and cutting. You will then focus on creating one book or booklet which might be left plain inside or could incorporate collage or could be cut to create 'pop up' style decoration.  The workshop is illustrated with examples that show the wide range of designs which can be achieved from these methods. Guidance and encouragement are given throughout.

Booking: There is a reduced fee for joining both workshops: £23 members, £29 non members. Booking is essential as places are limited. To book, phone Judy on 01424 431305 or email
