SoCo Newsletter: Spring 2009

We are pleased to present our new programme of events coming shortly.
Please continue to support our activities; we welcome your suggestions for new events and any help you can offer.

March 26: In Conversation with Andrew Moran and Nigel Green, showing
                 their new work under the title “Photography's Fractured Time”.
                6.30-8.30pm, The Beacon. £5 (£4 SoCo members & students)

March 28/29: Kimono exhibition (developed from kimono workshop) at WPS, 49 High Street,
                  Hastings and Oak Passage Studios, (Top of steps by Pump House pub.)

April 25:   Experimental workshop with Carly Ralph “Reconstructing the Familiar”, The Beacon,  Hastings. 10.00am – 4.00pm.
This further extends the ongoing Nets & Webs project.
£25 includes light lunch (£20 SoCo members). More details to follow.

May 10:         Painting with Colour & Light workshop with Angie Braven: The Beacon, Hastings. 10.00am-4.00pm, £25 (£20 for SoCo members) includes light lunch.
Starting with only three primary colours on a palette,
you will explore the language of colour and develop a full painters palette to create a still-life or landscape
or anything from your imagination.

May 11:         Delivery of artworks to Conquest Hospital for exhibition during June/July

June 5/6/7      New exhibition at St Mary-in-the-Castle: Postcard show “6x4”
We invite artists to make and donate one or two pieces of postcard-sized artworks which will be exhibited and all priced at £20 each.
Proceeds will help towards SoCo's funds and the event will support the new venture at SMIC. More details to follow.
